"I can't figure out why these guys from the farthest southeastern part of the country sound like they're from the most northwestern part of the country. No, it's not the Gospel/Soul group the Cadets it's a really F__ing good indie band from Jacksonville, Fla. "Conditions on Alpha Atoll plays by all the well-worn guitar rock rules, but throws in a willingness to try just about anything (instrumental surf, straightforward pop, western swing, etc.) Taking obvious cues from deceptively sloppy guitar based bands like Love as Laughter, Modest Mouse and Sebadoh, The Cadets fashion misshapen entrancing songs like "Delaguna 500" and "Threat of Winds." The intentionally shaky vocals are about as fresh as a can of Campbell's soup, but almost as nourishing. The world is overflowing with clever young men holding guitars, but I think there's more than enough room for The Cadets"- John Wenzel
